Welcome Letter
Dear Parents and Students,
I am very excited to begin this school year! This will be the beginning of my 13th year of teaching but my third year with the Ozark School District and my third as a gifted teacher. I taught 10 years for the Branson School District, 7 years in 3rd grade and 3 years in 5th grade. During my time, I was homeroom to a pod of gifted students. As a gifted student myself, I love to push and challenge these students to reach their highest potential and overcome obstacles.
I graduated from Missouri State University in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I am certified to teach students birth through 6th grade. I also earned my master’s degree in Educational Technology Leadership from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. In addition, I hold certification in eMINTS4ALL and eMINTS. I am also attending Lindenwood University to further my own education.
I am also a writer for Kagan Publishing. I currently have 10 books published and am working on my 11th and 12th books! I love cooperative learning and the social skills it helps provide.
My husband and I have an eight year old son, Kolby, who will be starting fourth grade this year at Ozark. We find ourselves always being amazed by his curiosity and viewpoints on how the world works. I love my role as mom and have become a better teacher for it. We also have a lab-mix dog named Piper and a cat named Books. They add the perfect amount of chaos to our lives!
In our free-time, my family enjoys going out to dinner, spending time boating at Lake Pomme De Terre, going kayaking around the area, and watching movies while relaxing at home. My personal hobbies include reading, running, being active, and finding new challenges to conquer.
I look forward to spending the year getting to know your family. We have an exciting year ahead of us with parent activities, engaging projects, and a little fun thrown in! If you have any questions, please contact me. The easiest and fastest way to get a hold of me is through email. If you do not receive a reply from me in 24 hours, please try to contact me again!
Your partner in education,
Mrs. Stefanie McKoy
